m Anti Ventrue Grinder

Highlights

Often spelled !Ventrue Grinder (the "!" prefix has been used to denote the antitribu clans for a while), this is a toolbox deck using the Ventrue antitribu m clan and their FAD disciplines combination. It is one of the oldest archetypes around and its shape has barely moved in decades: this list took the 2026 Italian NC over 47 players.

The idea is to get a high capacity vampire out, then use Govern the Unaligned at superior D to get more vampires out fast and cheap, before turning the same card into bleeds backed by Conditioning or Bonding. Effective Management, Wider View and Powerbase: Montreal keep the crypt flowing towards the key vampires.

Owain Evans is the economic heart of the deck: he refuels the coterie for free once a turn, and can slip a blood to another player's vampire to buy goodwill cross-table. The Coven and Corporate Hunting Ground bring in more blood, and Vessel turns the surplus into pool.

Defense is where the deck shines: a thick stack of bounces between Deflection and Telepathic Misdirection, plus My Enemy's Enemy. On the Qui Vive and superior Eyes of Argus provide the wakes, while intercept comes from inferior Eyes of Argus, Neighbor John, Channel 10 and KRCG News Radio. Delaying Tactics covers the referendums the a module cannot match.

The combat module is the grinder: the Weighted Walking Stick chips away round after round, while f prevention makes the exchange one-sided — Rolling with the Punches, backed by Hidden Strength and Soak. The deck blocks and whacks, grinding at the opponents' blood and pool during the game until it can finally lunge to oust its prey.

Tips & Tricks

Daring the Dawn is kept for the lunge: Govern the Unaligned with superior Conditioning is a bleed of 6 no vampire can block, and at superior F the acting vampire takes only 1 aggravated damage. Note that Conditioning and Bonding are both limited and do not stack: Bonding is the smaller, stealthier bleed option.

The deck has next to no stealth, so it borrows a couple of powerbleed tricks: Pentex™ Subversion shuts down the key blocker, and Anarch Troublemaker can lock up to two of the prey's vampires right before the minion phase — at the price of handing them the card afterwards.

Under Siege needs a titled Sabbat vampire to play, so Jefferson Foster, the crypt's lone bishop, can land it — cycle the card quickly when he is absent, but once he is out it is a powerful asset.

With a large library full of singletons, card flow matters: Blackhorse Tanner filters one card every turn, Heart of Nizchetus digs three cards deeper every unlock phase, and Dreams of the Sphinx and Edward Neally extend the hand. This is what lets the toolbox find the right answer at the right time.

Variants

Recent winning lists only differ at the margins. Eduardo Lemos' deck, which won a 35 players event in 2025, plays a third copy of Owain Evans and a thicker prevention package with Indomitability, Skin of Steel and Superior Mettle, plus Giant's Blood and a Bowl of Convergence.
